Innkeeper Gary Hofmeister has led an interesting life. After graduate school at Purdue University, he was a professional singer/actor in Broadway touring productions and summer stock. In 1973, he founded Hofmeister Personal Jewelers in Indianapolis, one of the largest independent fine jewelry stores in the nation. His travels encompass 108 countries including 18 trips to the former USSR leading seminars on democratic-capitalism. He was the Republican nominee for U.S. Congress for Indiana’s 10th district in 1998. He writes editorials for The Steamboat Pilot newspaper in Colorado. His wife JoAnne and he have 20 grandchildren. But now Gary loves running his Bed & Breakfast and taking great care of his guests. “The nicest and most interesting people in the world come to Bed and Breakfasts…or at least the ones who come to mine sure are!”

Gary, Thanks for letting 5 year old Gracie play your piano and give her the microphone to sing “Amazing Grace.” Your home is very comfortable and Gracie enjoyed having her own bed up on the 3rd floor.
